This bedding set is made from a blend of 93% Supima cotton and 7% silver ions.
The fabric carries the Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certification [1] to ensure that it's free from any harmful chemicals. 🧪
What is Supima cotton?
Supima cotton [2] is a type of cotton grown in the USA and makes up less than 1% of cotton grown worldwide.
It is crafted with extra-long staple fibre, which gives Supima cotton premium strength, softness, and colour retention.
This results in Supima cotton often feeling much softer and silkier than other types of cotton, even at lower thread counts.
The cotton used in the Aeyla Clean Silver Sheet Set has a thread count of 300, but it feels more luxurious than even some Egyptian cotton bedding sets we've tried. 🥰
What are silver ions?
The cotton in Aeyla's Clean Silver sheet set is permanently woven with CLNSilver (Ionic+) technology.
Silver is well-known for its antimicrobial properties and creates an environment that actively fights bacteria by disrupting the way bacteria breathe and replicate. 🦠
This results in a fabric that is naturally more resistant to bacteria and odours and less likely to result in breakouts or allergic reactions.

Even though Aeyla's Clean Silver bedding feels so soft and delicate, this is still a cotton set that can be treated as such.
It can be machine-washed at 40℃.
Even though there are claims that silver-infused bedding can be washed less frequently due to its antibacterial properties, silver ions still do not protect your sheets from oils and a build-up of dead skin cells.
We'd recommend washing your bedding once a week - or every 10 days at most. 🗓️

What is eucalyptus silk?
Eucalyptus silk is a vegan and environmentally friendly alternative to real silk.
Aeyla's eucalyptus silk has a number of key features:
- Producing eucalyptus silk does not involve actual silkworms, making this material vegan-friendly and a great affordable eco-friendly bedding UK option
- It is harvested from regenerative forests in Austria and the Czech Republic.
- Eucalyptus production requires 10x less water than cotton.
- Aeyla's eucalyptus silk is Oeko-Tex-certified [1], meaning it's certified to be free from any harmful chemicals.
- The fabric is compostable and biodegradable.
The fabric itself is silky and lustrous, like the real thing, though silk aficionados may be able to tell the difference - particularly after a wash or two.
Aeyla describes the material as equivalent to 1000-thread-count cotton.
It is incredibly smooth and gives you many of the cooling and skin-protection benefits of real silk. ❄️

We trialled the bedding in the light blue option, which is no longer available, but was a good in-between colour that added just a pop of life to any bedroom setup. 🩵
The white is the standard for a timeless look, while the stone, which is more of a light grey, will work great for darker interior designs.
Aeyla's Eucalyptus Silk washing instructions
Even though this isn't real silk, it's still a fragile material that needs to be washed carefully.
Luckily, it can be machine-washed, though Aeyla recommends washing the bedding set on cold with a natural detergent. 💦
While you can tumble dry and iron the material, both should be done on a low setting and hanging it up to air-dry is preferred.
The bedding dried well, without creases or crinkles, but it did take a while to dry, especially during the colder months, so we'd highly recommend having a back-up option.
